OCTOBER Club•WS | red

We hope you’re ready for a tasty October wine club. For this month’s lineup, we’re focusing on reds that will help you transition from the light and easy summer wines to more deep and complex bodies. We hope you’ll enjoy them! The Club is available for pickup as-of Thursday, October 6th.

CABERNET FRANC

The appellation of Bourgueil streches over seven villages on the border of Anjou and Touraine, Loire Valley, France. This 2017 is slightly more mineral-driven than the “Vieilles Vignes” we’ve featured in past clubs and with a tighter-grist texture. It displays an easy equilibrium and gorgeously rendered dark-red and black fruits on an acid-driven frame…to learn more, join our club!
Food Pairings: Greens and Mushroom Panini (recipe included for club members)

RED BORDEAUX

Organically certified production, located in the heart of the Entre-Deux Mers region just east of Bordeaux, the broad region of rolling hills and mixed farming between the Garonne and the Dordogne rivers, hence the name…Mainly from the Merlot grape. Dark fruit, fresh aromas on the palate. The abundant red fruits predominate with round and graceful tannins…to learn more, join our club!
Food Pairings: Coq Au Vin

TINTO DE PENEDES

Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot. Now, are you ready for the dramatic love story? It all started in 1935, when Lluis Ferré Pascual, the son of a family of winegrowers from Penedès, secretly married Maria Catasús Domènech. This wedding was not well received by either of the two families….Organically farmed. Deep cherry color with violet hues. On the nose, red fruits such as raspberries…to learn more, join our club!
Food Pairings: Proper Boston Baked Beans

SOUTH OF FRANCE

Carignan, Grenache, Syrah. In the hills, west of Perpignan the domaine perches high on a south-facing slope. It sits below the former site of a ‘royal castle’ dating from 1258, which used to mark the northern boundary of the kingdom of Aragon. (Oh! I sound like a HBO series)…On the palate, a fresh and smooth palate, with undertones of blackberries, and blackcurrants…to learn more, join our club!
