Fall is finally here

Thursday, October 23 2025
• From 5 to 7

Casey is at the tasting table, sharing with us a fall-inspired lineup: Cabernet Franc from France, Malagouzia from Greece, and a Rufete from Spain. All $25 and under.

Cabernet Franc: Chinon les Terrasses, sourced from sandy, gravelly soils, offers aromas of red berries, flowers, peony, and a hint of pepper. It has a moderate weight, is tense and refreshing, with a vibrant, juicy palate enhanced by a gentle spritz, leading to a firm, slightly dry, mouthwatering finish.

Malagouzia: Charalaboglou Wines, located at the foothill of Mount Pangaion in Northern Greece, is an organic grape grower and wine producer. Their fragrant wine features citrus orange zest, pears, honey blossom, and meadow herbs, with a creamy palate showcasing white fruit balanced by fine acidity and pleasant ripeness.

Rufete: Sourced from older vines on granite and schist terraces at 650 meters, Rufete undergoes natural fermentation with 15% whole bunch and three weeks of maceration, aging for 10 months in French barrels. It offers aromas of cherry, plum, and raspberries, with silky tannins and a juicy core, finishing with notable salinity.

Holiday Warm up!

Thursday, October 30 2025
• From 5 to 7

Alex will be at the tasting table, excited to share a peek at our holiday lineup—new Champagne to the market, an extremely food-friendly Chenin Blanc, and our favorite California red Zinfandel.

Champagne: “Brut cuvée is made up of 65% Pinot Meunier, 20% Chardonnay & 15% Pinot Noir from the renowned Montage de Reims. It shows delicate notes of iodine, dried fruits, and vibrant yellow fruits. It pairs beautifully with smoked salmon blinis or olive or vegetable tapenades and crostini.”

Chenin Blanc: Off-dry Chenin exhibits vibrant acidity and delicate honey notes, differing from fuller-bodied Chenin Blancs from other Loire Valley regions. Janvier’s wines showcase flinty minerality, with aromas of wet stones, smoke, ripe melon, guava, quince, citrus blossoms, grapefruit, and orange preserve.

Zinfandel: “This wine has a unique freshness, brimming with bright red berry fruit and hints of dried fruit. It is flavorful, yet restrained for a CA zin, with black peppercorn spice and hints of chocolate and nuts.”

Anne H. Helioterra

Dinner with the winemaker | Helioterra – Oregon

Wednesday, November 19 2025
• At 7

Helioterra is an artisanal urban winery owned by Anne Hubatch in SE Portland, Oregon. Many of us have fallen in love with her very approachable, affordable, and totally solid Pinot Noir Whoa Nelly. And now I’m excited to announce that Anne is coming to visit us and will share her knowledge, passion, and wines at a wine dinner. This will be a four-course meal prepared by Chef Vittorio Ettore at Bistro 5 in Medford.

Coming from a background in geology, Anne realized in 2002 that her future lay in the heart of Oregon wine country when she discovered a passion to become a winemaker. She introduced her first solo vintage of Helioterra Wines in 2009. The winery name draws on geological inspiration from Heliolite (the Oregon state gemstone, more commonly known as Sun Stone). “Helio” and “terra” combine the Greek words for sun and earth, the natural partners for grape growing.

Fees, tax, and gratuity included.
